Off to Shanghai, China

This time next week I will be flying to Shanghai in China to study. I will keep you posted on events, hopefully daily.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation: Healing or Scrupulosity

You are invited to attend a discussion this Sunday on the topic

The Sacrament of Reconciliation:
Healing or Scrupulosity

Following our earlier discussions on Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist, we continue our look at the Sacraments of the Church with a discussion on reconciliation or more correctly The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation, formerly known to many of us as confession.

Has this sacrament now changed? And how is the concept of scruples now regarded in the modern Church.

Join us this Sunday at 6:30pm in St John's Hall meeting room for discussion and a cuppa.

Still Belong to You - (c) Sean Donovan 1997

© Sean Donovan 1997

Still Belong to You

Thought I saw you
Just the other day
Thought I saw you
But you ran away.
My heart was beating and
My life was standing still.
What could I do?
Still belong to you.

I was frightened.
Don't you understand?
I was frightened.
This just wasn't planned.
My legs were weak and
My hands were shaking too.
What could I do?
Still belong to you.

Scared to see you.
Scared to hide.
Scared you'll see through
My thin Pride.
Help me now baby.
Please help me now baby please help me now baby now.

Wrote a letter
To a foreign land.
Wrote a letter.
Hope you understand.
Need to see you.
Need to see it through.
What can I do?
Still belong to you.

Hepa Jika - (c) SMP Donovan 2006

Hepa Jika

© SMP Donovan 2006

Style:    Country Rock

Notes:  A classic country blues story about a dark haired beauty who will lead you astray.

Well it's a whole other story in a whole other world.

A mess of complications. Let me tell you 'bout the girl.

A whole lot of trouble, a word to the wise,

Don't ever be mistaken she's the devil in disguise.

Oh mercy me, better let it be.

Alabama beauty there staring back at me.

Take a chance, baby wanna dance.

Moving like an alley cat.

I got Hepa Jika next to me.

Well her hair is like a raven, her eyes are black as night,

Ruby lips are threatening to lead me right.

Get me to the station, I gotta leave the state.

Get me on a Greyhound 'fore it is too late.

Oh mercy me, better let it be.

Alabama beauty there staring back at me.

Take a chance, baby wanna dance.

Moving like an alley cat.

I got Hepa Jika next to me.

Well her daddy he's a preacher, her mamma she's a witch,

Her brother is in Memphis on a three year stretch.

Her little kid sister is making eyes at me.

An Uncle in Dubois, an Aunty up in Tennessee.

Oh mercy me, better let it be.

Alabama beauty there staring back at me.

Take a chance, baby wanna dance.

Moving like an alley cat.

I got Hepa Jika next to me.
